Parippu Thoran
Ingredients:
Toor Dal- 1 cup
Salt - to taste
Grated Coconut - 1 cup
Turmeric Powder - ¼ tsp
Fennel Seeds(Perumjeerakam) - ¼ tsp
Green Chillies - 2 nos.
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Small Onion / Shallot -chopped 3 nos.
Dry Red Chillies -2 nos.
Curry Leaves 2 stalks
Oil - 1 tbsp
Preparation Method for Parippu Thoran (Dal)
Cook the toor dal adding enough water and salt.
Grind together Grated Coconut ,Turmeric Powder,Fennel Seeds and Green Chillies.
Keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds and allow to splutter.
Add small onion, red chillies and curry leaves, stir for 5 minutes.
Add ground coconut mixture and stir for 3 minutes.
Then add toor dal and mix it well.
Thoran is ready.
