Bitter Gourd (Pavakka, Kayppakka) Thoran
Ingredients for Bitter Gourd Thoran
Bitter gourd(Pavakka/Kayppakka) - 4 nos
Onion - 2 no
Ginger (ground) - 2 tsp
Green chillies - 5 nos
Coconut (ground) - 1 cup
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - A pinch
Salt - As reqd
Preparation Method of Bitter Gourd Thoran Recipe
1). Grate bitter gourd into very small pieces.
2). Cut onion, chillies and ginger into very small pieces.
3). Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
4). Add mustard seeds and allow them to crackle.
5). Add bitter gourd, grated coconut, ginger, turmeric, onion and green chillies into the frying pan.
6). Add salt and stir well.
7). Keep the pan covered and cook on a low flame for 10 minutes. Stir well.
