Pickle (Mango / Lemon)

pickleIngredients :

  • Mangoes (or Lemon) : 1/2 kg
  • Oil (Coconut / Olive) : 4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds : 1 tsp
  • Red chillies : 3 Nos
  • Curry leaves : 2 sprigs
  • Turmeric powder : ½ tsp
  • Chilli powder : 4 tsp
  • Salt : to taste
  • Fenugreek powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Asafoetida powder : 1/2 tsp

Preparation Method:

  1. Slice mangoes along with skin. (If you are making lemon pickle, cut each in to small pieces)
  2. Warm oil and add mustard seeds, red chillies and curry leaves.
  3. Saute for some time and add ½ glass water.
  4. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt, and let it boil
  5. After boiling for two minutes remove from flame
  6. Add sliced mangoes and keep covered till mango (or lemon) is cooked.
  7. Add fenugreek powder and asafoetida powder, mix well and serve.
