VILLAGE GRANDMA
Written by : Baby
His eyes filled with tears. He wiped them out with his hands and looked around. " Oh. no one had seen it" he consoled himself. But all of them had seen by his mother who stayed apart. She came quickly and asked him, " My dear boy, what happened."Nothing, mummy!""No, You are crying!" What's the matter. Your eyes tell me that you are crying""Something fell into my eyes. mummy"" No, I don't believe it. Look, there is nothing to fall"He didn't say anything. He turned to left side and acted sleeping.
His mind flew to the village where his Grandma and Grandpa were living. He believed that His Grandma and Grandpa were the symbol of love and affection. Their hospitality was famous. They provided tasty dishes. Especially, the dishes, "Palappam with chicken, Vellayappam with mutton or beef and Vattayappam with banana", were famous. The remembrance of its taste filled his mouth with water.
In the village he had a friend, named Rahul. He was the son of an agriculturist. He was a village lad. As soon as he came to know that his friend, Tonnie, had arrived to village in the vacation, he would run fast to see him. When seeing him he embraced him and listened to him for the cities news. Rahul would say humour. Sense of humour was his speciality.
Rahul would pull him to the fields. He would jump in to the fields and roll himself in the muds. When he rise up and stand straight he would be seen as a clay toy. Tonnie would laugh at him. He was a boy without anger. So he never would respond it against. He would run towards the river and jump into the river. He would dive into the depth and swim upwards and downwards.
When Tonnie would reach the bank of the river, he would look fresh and fair. He would give the rounded stones collected from the river. He had a collection of stones supplied by his friend. Tonnies would ask him "Do you know English Proverb". He wouldn't answer it but say, "Look your hand, what is it?"."It is a stone"."Not only a stone but also a rolling stone". ie. A rolling stone gathers no moss. By saying that he would run along the bank of the river. Toniie would follow him.
In the bank of the river there were different types of trees and plants. The rows of coconut trees and aeronaut trees were found beautiful. The jackfruit trees, mango trees, teak trees were enriched the banks of the river. Among them there were different varieties of banana plants. They would run between the trees. Rahul would climp up the mango tree and pick the fruit. He would eat one by sitting the branch of the tree and throw down one more to his friend.
"Rahul" he called. "Where are you?" "Please come". " I am anxious to join with you".
But there were no reply. He felt sad. He became unconscious.
His mother called the doctor. Doctor and nurses came to there. They observed him carefully. "Don't worry! He will be okay within two or three days", He consoled his mother.
His mother looked into the face of his beloved son and said "Okay".
